Volunteer Training Schedule

The Crisis Clinic Resource Network holds its 60 hour Volunteer phone-worker training 4 times a year. The training is designed to enable trainees to build effective active listening skills and increase their ability to empathize and relate well to our very diverse caller population.  The training will also teach how to manage anxiety and stay calm in the face of extreme circumstances and pain.  Trainees will also become competent at offering useful referrals to our callers.

Training  begins with an initial training weekend, followed by a 6-week in-service period that includes a series of evening workshops and a 4 hour a week training phone shift.

To qualify for the training, you must have an interview and be able to commit to the entire weekend, the workshops, plus a weekly phone room training shift. .
